Gary was raised in the fertile central valley, where the steady migration of farm workers from the South and Southeastern states, proved to be a real treasure of music and musical influences. The music of Hank Williams, Maddox Brothers and Rose, Bob Wills and his brother Billy Jack Wills, created much of a soundtrack for Gary’s childhood. His Grandmother played guitar and sang, as did his father who taught Gary guitar at an early age. Gary’s son Taylor, who also plays, recently received his Great Grandmother’s guitar as a gift. Gary’s musical career has afforded him the opportunity to travel the U.S., Great Britain, Ireland, and Europe. He fell in love with England and Ireland, and was able to return to his favorite city, Liverpool, where he immersed himself in the history of his favorite musical pastime, The Beatles. Gary has worked steady in the Bay Area music scene for more then twenty years. In addition to his guitar playing, he has toured playing pedal steel with the New Riders of the Purple Sage and he’s earned a gold record for his efforts as a record producer. His leisure time is spent with his wife Lynne, and their eight year old son Taylor. Mountain biking, kayaking, and just keeping up with Taylor, round out his creative and active life.
