Born in the Alameda County. The sixth son of eight children Robert grew up on a small farm in the Hayward hills over looking the San Francisco Bay. His interest was always in music. Singing for his family and friends at family gatherings. Robert’s mother Delores gave him his first guitar at the age of nine. He immediately began to learn to play songs from his favorite artists such as: Merle Haggard, Glen Cambell, and the late John Denver. After writing songs as a child, Robert formed his first band in junior high-school, performing at parties and school events. After graduation he began performing in Bay Area night clubs with his band Idle Rich. He met his wife Patti in 1982 and was married to her in 1983. During this time he formed his current band the California Cowboys, one of the most successful bands on the West Coast. Two time Marlboro Talent Round up winner, also winner of Disc Makers best independent band World Series 1997. In the year 1995 Robert was awarded the coveted CCMA’s Entertainer of the Year. Through fifteen years of marriage and four children, Robert has written hundreds of songs drawing upon his personal experiences of family, hard work and everyday life. His band the California Cowboys have opened for many artists including: Alabama, George Strait, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and many others..... They perform at fairs, festivals, concerts and night clubs all over the Western States. Outside of music, Robert enjoys fishing, jogging, gerdning, and raising livestock on his Ranch in Northern California.
